Softball was invented and established by a guy named George Hancock. It was made on Thanksgiving Day in 1887. After 111 years later the game was then called softball because before then people used to call itb names such as cabbage ball or lettuce ball because of its roundness. It was invented in Chicago and it spread out the whole world just like any other sport.
At then softball was known as the sport for men because women by then did not have time for playing but time to take care for their families but as time goes on back in 1976 women then joined the game. Softball is played with a large ball on a small field and it is categorizes in three forms and the most common one is slow-pitch softball which can measure either 11 or 12 inches in a circumference and at most times there are 10 players in a team. Their is also a fast pitch softball in which the pitch is fast and there are 9 players on the field at one time.
The difference between men and women when it comes to their gear is that women are expected to wear short pants while men have to wear long ones and the equipments they use at most times are
