DEVELOP TALENT AT AN EARLY AGE


It is a vital to develop talent at an early age to afford young athletes on opportunity to participate in the football leagues in the country that would intimately expose them to international leagues in the future.

Speaking during Lobatse Primary Schools grassroots football tournament recently technical director of Grass Root Football in Lobatse, Odirile Matlhaku said the tournament would help  in the transformation of Lobatse schools into being high achievers in the future. He lauded Botswana Football Association for recognizing the need for establishment of age based teams to enhance the country grassroots football development.

He added that the development programme is vital as it helped to keep young people meaningful occupied when not a school and creating and creating a fun environment for youth in playing soccer, rather than letting them roaming around the streets where they could end up getting involved in undesired acts.

Furthermore he said the programmer would help to establish grassroots football teams within difference console wards and grass roots football tournament competition for wards teams. He encouraged coordinators and coaches to mobilize and organize ward teams training and matches to maintain continuity. the tournaments was graced by 170, 10 years old and other pupils from Lobatse
